In 2022, I achieved my Diploma in Creative Writing Diploma. This was an amazing experience and gave me a newfound passion for nonfiction writing and genres I’d never had the courage to tackle before. I learned about famous writers and authors. Built up my portfolio with poetry, biographies and short stories. I also have my communications SCQF level 6 qualification which is a higher English equivalent. I Achieved this during my first major in college studying sports and fitness. It has been three years since I gained my Diploma, I’ve joined many creative platforms for writers and aspiring authors. Where I have worked with fellow creatives as a proofreader, beta reader and editor. It is all nonprofit: sometimes people will offer to read my work and give me some feedback, editors aren't impervious to criticism. I have my own Ko-fi page where I offer commissions as a commissioning editor for short stories and novels. I’m currently working on my own debut novel which I hope to publish one day. It is an adult supernatural fiction novel. For five years, I published non-profit on a platform called Webnovel and garnered over 295 thousand readers/viewers. In 2024, I decided to officially make writing my entire life as I had worked a few jobs in the past but never felt like they were my cup of tea. Which I personally believe is very important. Writers and editors have to agree on what's being implemented and what isn't. As you can tell I have been in the writing world for a while and I love it more and more everyday. When I edit a book I focus on the important factors such as readability, coherence, story development, character development and backstory, flow and clarity, grammatical correctness, structure and formatting. However, it is important for a story to have a personality which draws you in. You can have all the pieces of the pie but if it lacks flavour you won't devour it!
