I am a professional researcher, data analyst and writer, with a master’s degree from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, the top #3 school for public Health in the entire world. While I was there, I got the chance to work on my masters degree and take on actual work that Public Health England had to get done. PHE is now known as UKHSA, and is responsible for country wide health protection of England. I got to work on projects related to that(Quantitative and Qualitative, statistical and analytical projects). I was also lucky enough to have the chance to work with the CDC directly in Yuma, Arizona, as they were having a live dengue fever outbreak and I came to help, and collaborated with Senior CDC scientists
I have published a paper in a scientific journal before, so I am familiar with the process. I received my bachelors degree in Neuroscience(heavy on both biology and psychology, as well as all the other sciences) Cum Laude, with a 4.0 GPA for both my major classes, and my minor classes.
I worked as a research assistant a lot during both my undergraduate and graduate studies, including doing statistical analysis and data collection/entry, and actually getting my hands dirty in an entomology lab and doing fieldwork setting up dengue projects in Sonora, Mexico.
After graduating with my master’s degree, I went on to do 3 full years of sociomedical/epidemiological research at Columbia University as a data analyst, junior programmer, database manager, and research assistant. When I was living in New York, I took night and weekend classes in SQL and Python, Python at NYU, and SQL at BMCC, up to the intermediate level for SQL and the advanced level for Python.
I even got to try my hands at analytics on Broadway/in Theatre,I volunteered in a data science role for several months. There, after a lengthy application I was accepted to the highly selective and prestigious TedX “young professionals in broadway” event being held. I was quoted in a major national magazine, speaking on analytics and broadway. I created and taught workshops on subjects such as A/B testing to Theatre professionals, such as Theatre Owners.
Then in my most recent role, I worked as a data analyst for the MTA(subways and buses) in New York City.
Overall, I am a dedicated data analyst and researcher who combines technical expertise, analytical acumen, and strong communication skills to derive meaningful insights from data and drive data-driven decision-making processes. I am passionate about leveraging data to solve real-world problems and make a positive impact in the field of analytics and beyond.
