I have played a part in practically every Australian genre film to come down the pipeline in recent years, including Jamie Blank’s STORM WARNING, Greg McLean’s ROGUE, LAKE MUNGO, THE LOVED ONES, RED HILL and THE BABADOOK. My experience as a top Special Effects Makeup Designer, Art Director, and Production Designer, working on big-budget American productions alongside such recognised directors as George Lucas on STAR WARS and productions such as CHARLOTTES WEB and THE BANK JOB. As a Writer/Producer/Director, I focused my unique creativity and know-how on directing my first feature film, CRAWLSPACE. In addition to the usual jobs of Production Design and Makeup and Creature Effects Designer, I surrounded myself with an incredible team of artisans and professionals, creating a strong network of mentors and collaborators all eager to be swept up in his enthusiasm. My eclectic career has made me an extremely creative and resourceful writer and director with a focus on performances and distinctive visuals. Known for injecting my enthusiasm into each and every project, my work has been recognised internationally, having been brought on to co-produce the science fiction TV show HUNTERS with Gale Ann Hurd, legendary Producer of ALIENS, THE TERMINATOR, THE ABYSS and THE WALKING DEAD. In 2019 I again returned to the Director’s chair igniting the same passion and experience of world-class artisans to make his 2nd feature film, a supernatural vampire movie set in World War 2, BLOOD VESSEL, which has gone on to win awards at multiple festivals and continues to gain cult status. As a natural-born storyteller, my work was recognised by Fox Searchlight who commissioned a script, and soon after I was working with LA producers including Marty Katz producer of THE GREAT RAID, where I wrote an Underwater Action/Adventure film GALLEON and a mind-bending thriller ARTIFICE. My writing talents were noticed by Voltage Pictures, DALLAS BUYERS CLUB, who bought my screenplay, A.R.I.E.S. an original Mars-set thriller. Mike Gabrawy, producer of HOTEL MUMBI commissioned me to write a draft of a big-budget reinvention of HEART OF DARKNESS, a science-fiction take on the classic Joseph Conrad novella to star Bruce Willis. From there I was flown to China to meet producers for a 40M Chinese science fiction film and delivered an exciting culturally accurate script about Fung-fu Dinosaur Robots, DINOSAUR WARS.
