Remember Me, Inc. – Ecommerce Journey
As the sole owner/operator of Remember Me, Inc., my resume reflects just a small synopsis of my experience and abilities as it pertains to the ecommerce industry. While I’m well versed and educated in the many processes required to succeed online, it is no longer possible for me to grow my business and compete successfully without hiring staff to maintain my current business or take my business to the next level. With years of success behind me, I am searching for the best opportunity to utilize my experience in a new career or freelancing opportunity.
To efficiently perform all duties necessary to run my business, all areas have been addressed. However, each of these areas requires so much more attention than I can provide as a sole owner/operator of Remember Me, Inc. For example, I have strategies and graphics available for a number of social media marketing campaigns, but since the other aspects of running a successful online business take priority, social media (while incredibly important) does not take center stage.
Here is a brief outline of my experience and current priorities with my business (in the order of importance):
Organic SEO: This is where I excel since organic SEO was the core marketing strategy of my business. Ten years after starting my business, 95% of my sales come from organic SEO efforts. This includes content marketing, blogging and forming relationships with others for links to my platforms. In my opinion, organic SEO is a vital part of every ecommerce business since content continues to be “king”.
Business administration: Bookkeeping, taxes, drop ship vendor management, inventory, e-mails, order processing, website management (storeadmin and cpanel), product updates, google analytics and an endless workload of behind-the-scenes admin functions.
Etsy: In the past five years or so, Etsy required most of my attention. My sales were reflective of my time commitment and marketing efforts. I found Etsy to be a company that I was proud to represent. I was able to understand the algorithms, product listing requirements, the importance of photo editing and display, content management (including titles and tags) as well as order processing and customer service. My sales and reviews represent my efforts on the Etsy platform.
Amazon: My sales on Amazon were second to Etsy only since Amazon’s learning curve, and competition, require a lot of time and attention. I have had success in the handmade, professional, and custom marketplace. I also have developed my own “Heavenly Hugs” brand on Amazon.
Shopify: Started a website for my Handmade By Remember Me brand on Etsy and Amazon. Since analytics was proving that I (my brand) was bringing a ton of traffic to Etsy and Amazon, my own website was imperative. Developing the website, with an entirely different algorithm than Etsy and/or Amazon, required more learning and time!
Fiverr: I thoroughly enjoyed and had great short-term success as a consultant on Fiverr and my reviews reflected my success. Brand development, focusing on niche markets, was my focus – specifically on Etsy. Due to Fiverr's platform limitations, I've moved on to other freelancing platforms.
Remember Me Gift Boutique: This website is where it all started and Remember Me Gift Boutique started as a drop ship platform. I wish I had more time to bring this more antiquated website up to current google specifications, but that is not possible. Therefore, my efforts are more directed towards the new Shopify platform mentioned above.
Social Media: While I thoroughly enjoy the strategies and creative process of social media marketing, I have not been able to make social media a priority for my business. I have had many successful marketing campaigns and would love the opportunity to show off my ideas and campaign strategies developed but not yet executed.
Blogging: When I only had one website, I was able to bring a considerable amount of business to my company simply with blogging and keyword management. I also added Amazon Affiliate Marketing with a bit of success!
Paid Advertising: I’ve experienced huge success with Amazon advertising. Pinterest and Facebook have also been successful. I have studied Google (have a certificate) and Hubspot advertising practices, however, due to time constraints, have not fully explored these avenues for my business. However, my Shopify store has success with their free Google Shopping advertising (due to organic SEO).
