I am excited to introduce myself as a UX/UI designer with a unique interdisciplinary background that combines design and social anthropology. I hold a Master’s degree in Social Anthropology and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, alongside the Google UX Design Professional Certificate. My expertise in understanding human behavior and cultural dynamics allows me to create empathetic, user-centered designs that resonate with diverse audiences. As part of the Google UX Design Certificate program, I completed three projects—a wedding organizer mobile app, a mobile app for buying and selling children's clothes, and a responsive website to support parents and students with bus routes and carpooling. These projects enabled me to apply design principles like user research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing, with a focus on both mobile and web platforms. My academic journey in Social Anthropology has provided me with critical research skills, including qualitative and quantitative research, ethnographic study, and user interviews. Social anthropology plays a critical role in UX design by offering deep insights into human behavior, cultural dynamics, and social interactions. It provides designers with a framework to understand how different cultures, societies, and identities shape people’s experiences and decision-making processes. By applying anthropological research methods—such as field studies, ethnographic observation, and qualitative analysis—UX designers can uncover the underlying motivations, needs, and pain points of users from diverse backgrounds. This holistic understanding enables the creation of more intuitive, empathetic, and user-centered designs that resonate with a global audience. Ultimately, incorporating social anthropology into UX design ensures that products are not only functional but also culturally relevant and meaningful to users. In my thesis, The Mystery of Return to Bulgaria: Analyzing Self- Identity Construction of Bulgarian Turkish Immigrant Women, I delved deeply into self- identity and cultural experiences, honing my ability to apply these insights to real- world problems—an essential skill in creating intuitive, user-centered products. In addition to my academic background, my hands-on project experience reinforces my design capabilities. My undergraduate graduation project, BankCafe, reimagined banking as a social activity for the elderly, combining banking services with a café environment. This UX design project addressed both social and functional needs, showcasing my ability to blend empathy and practical design solutions. Professionally, I have worked as a Data Curator at Veeva Systems, where I managed data for key projects. Prior to that, I served as Design and Patent Responsible at E.C.A. Valfsel Armatür Sanayi, where my work on the E.C.A. Amphora Faucet was awarded the Silver A’Design Award in 2012. I am proficient in a wide range of design tools, including Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Rhinoceros 3D, enabling me to deliver high-quality designs across various platforms. My design process is informed by anthropological field study, comparative analysis, and usability testing, ensuring that my solutions are not only functional but deeply resonant with users’ needs and experiences. I am confident that my interdisciplinary expertise and user-first mindset would make me a valuable addition to your team!Service DesignerApp DesignQualitative ResearchEthnographiesAdobe XDUser ExperienceFigmaSketchUser Interface DesignService DesignAdobe IllustratorAdobe PhotoshopUX & UIQuantitative Research Want to browse more freelancers?
