I'm Mikey, a Human Centered Designer focusing on User Experience and Research. I came to UX through Fashion and Costume Design, giving me a variety of useful tools. I started in UX Design as a 3D Artist for a startup named Avametric. There I utilized my Fashion experience and contacts to act as subject matter expert for testing and iterating on a 3D fitting room tool for ECommerce. I provided design ideas based on my experience and the experience of others in industry. While doing this, I also studied User Experience Design and UI Design. Around this time Avametric was acquired by Gerber Technology and I created a role for myself, User Research and Design. In this role, I spearheaded the redesign of a legacy 3D CAD tool for patternmakers. I evaluated the current state of the tool, strategized several research efforts, implemented them and crafted both a research report and redesign. Through the process I collaborated with my director to develop Personas, insights, journey maps, wireframes, high fidelity mockups and more. We presented to stakeholders and started to craft ideas for implementation. I have also collaborated with designers on a 3D Design tool and Photo capture application. In my time working in UX, I have gotten to work on many parts of the process, but I am excited to keep learning and growing as well. I look forward to serving users through empathy, design and collaboration.

I’m based in SF. I live and work in the city. My primary work is Product Development as a graphic jean designer. My professional industry is fashion, though, my hobby is photography. I've been doing leisure photography for 5 years and now I want to advance that into freelance opportunities. My specific niche is Product Photography having years of work in design. I'm able to develop pictures for eCommerce or product marketing. I’m advanced in Photoshop and Lightroom. I'm here to provide any photo editing, marketing, redevelopment, retouching, or restoration needed. To see more of my portfolio, check out my own eCommerce (I use as my portfolio), and social media links. Thank you. I create fashion, my admiration is culture, and my inspiration is art. Where does it all come from? It comes from traveling! My life is my Lookbook. I've been too many places and would say I developed an eye for seeing beauty anywhere I go. Culture validates our individuality, but art brings us together.

I am a sustainable fashion designer and advocate working to maximize materials to their fullest potential to reduce textile waste. My expertise includes a thorough technical understanding of design, garment construction, patternmaking, and production. I have been sewing and making clothes for decades. I believe that everything has the potential, even the smallest scrap of fabric, and enjoy the journey of finding out how to make the design process more sustainable. You can find me most days in my sewing studio creating custom designs, upcycling, and playing with fabric scraps. Message me if I can help make your next project a success! More about me: Coming from a long line of artists and makers dating back generations, nostalgia, and craft are touchstones for my artwork and fashion design. My interest in Fashion comes from sewing and crafting at an early age, from watching my mother work surrounded by racks of clothes as a buyer at a large department store and witnessing the magic family members created with fabric, yarn, paint, and food. In 2018, I launched Asterisk And None, a series of Recipe-Towels based on old family recipes and vintage kitchen decor on Etsy. My formal connection to the Arts started with a Photography degree from San Francisco State University, continued with exhibiting my innovative photographs, and culminated with a long career as a Gallery Manager at a non-profit art organization. I see organizing exhibitions similar to garment production, where all the components must synchronize to become a reality. I love the process behind making things, and my curious nature always needs to know why and how things get made. I am passionate about being a part of the fashion industry where sustainability, fairness, respect for the environment, the supply chain, and the people who make the clothes are valued.
