💫 Transforming Ideas into Bestsellers: Your Vision, My Words 💫 As a top 1% Upwork performer, I've spent over a decade turning concepts into #1 bestsellers—both fiction and non-fiction—with thousands of 5-star Amazon reviews to show for it. What I Write: • Fiction: Novels, short stories, screenplays • Non-Fiction: Self-help, personal development, spirituality, relationships, mental health, business strategy But honestly? I love a good challenge. If you've got a unique topic in mind, let's talk about it. My Process: I start by really getting to know your voice and vision. Whether you have detailed notes or just a rough idea, I'll work with you to develop compelling content that sounds authentically yours. Most projects take 3-4 weeks for a full manuscript, though I can work faster if needed. Pricing: Rates vary by project scope, but I typically charge $0.03-0.04 per word for ghostwriting. Happy to discuss package deals for full books. Why Work With Me: Beyond the bestseller track record, clients tell me I have this knack for capturing their voice—like I'm reading their thoughts. One CEO said I wrote their business book exactly how they would've written it themselves, if they'd had the time. Recent Client Feedback: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Kingsley captures the essence of your thoughts as if reading from your personal diary. His passion and understanding are unmatched." ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "An exceptional find. His work is impeccable—I wholeheartedly recommend his services." ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "True literary professionalism. We've secured his talent for multiple 30k-word projects." Ready to see your name on that book cover? Drop me a message with your idea—even if it's still forming. I'd love to hear what you're working on.Short Story Writing

I'm Whitney, an expert story coach, script polisher, and developmental editor. I help writers develop and craft their best novels, memoirs, non-fiction books and screenplays. I look for projects that have immense promise and work with you to nurture your manuscript or script till it's all it can be! I've worked with award-winning authors, professional ghost writers, traditionally-published writers (i.e. Penguin Random House), and self-published authors with 4+ star Good Reads ratings to create compelling narrative arcs, pinpoint non-fiction core concepts, and generally guide promising stories toward greatness. I love helping writers craft beautiful and meaningful stories. If that's your dream -- I'm here to help. My skills come from years working as a story coach, writer, journalist, as well as within the publishing industry through a traineeship at FranklinCovey where I served on the advisory committee for Sean Covey's book "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens." I also have studied under working Hollywood screenwriters. I know the industry's reigning philosophies and approaches to storytelling -- such as those put forth by Pilar Alessandra, and Blake Snyder in his nigh-ubiquitous "Save the Cat." I'm also aware of the more unique devices taught by Angus Fletcher (a self-dubbed "story scientist" who has been brought in by TV networks and studios to crack story problems). My Specialties: ✔️ Story and Writing Coaching ✔️ Non-Fiction, Memoir, Novels (Literary Fiction), and Short Stories ✔️ Editorial Assessments ✔️ Full Developmental Edits ✔️ In-Depth Beta Reads ✔️ Script Consulting and Script Polishing Story is COMPLEX. Let me use my experience, story knowledge and knack for analysis to identify why your essay, narrative, short story, script. etc. isn't quite working, If you are worried about criticism, I assure you, I'm not your critic, I'm your coach. I offer you an array of specific and constructive feedback to make your story better. Most of my clients state, when they get my feedback report that it is the most illuminating, helpful and nuanced feedback they have ever received. I'm knowledgeable about essential story tools such as: ✔️ Story structure ✔️ Tone ✔️ Scene ✔️ Humor ✔️ Dialogue ✔️ Core Messages ✔️ Flow of Argument 💡 I can also work with you on a nascent story, self-help, non-fiction or memoir idea if you need some guidance starting a book! I have worked with entrepreneurs and coaches who have rarely or never written, but want to turn their fascinating start-up success story or core coaching principles into a compelling non-fiction book. Every great writer has a fantastic coach behind them. Even Ernest Hemingway took constructive developmental notes from his writer/journalist partners. Beware of the mistake in thinking writing a fantastic book is something you must do on your own! Don't let my price intimidate you. An expensive developmental editor is one who pats you on the head, says good job, or primarily makes suggestions about formatting and line edits. You won't grow as a writer from these suggestions and neither readers nor traditional publishers will be fooled. My goal is to offer you only what you need to take you to the next stage -- whether that's a coaching session, a beta read, or a full developmental edit. I want to give you only what you need to help you move forward. I offer risk-free sessions. Try a coaching or developmental editing session with me to see how you might benefit and if you're a good fit. The initial consultation fee will be applied to your project. If you'd like the opportunity to "try out" a session with me, go ahead and request an interview so we can talk and get started! Thanks so much for taking the time to read my profile. I can't wait to read your work! PLEASE NOTE: I frequently receive inquiries about ghost writing. I can assist your ghost writer in developing your book, but I am not a ghost writer, nor do I offer ghost writing services.Short Story Writing

*~~ Always happy to give a free sample edit and work flat rate ~~* My passion and expertise is helping you turn rough drafts into polished prose! Did you write it down but it doesn't look right? Maybe you just need that second pair of eyes to check for those tiny details that might be missed. Ideas how to elevate your writing with just a few, near effortless, changes? Let's work together to get your story out to your audience, where it belongs! I am an experienced editor and proofreader with one goal in mind—helping you reach your publishing goal! What kind of an editor am I? I’m empathetic. Meaning, I understand the experience of bringing your ideas to life. It can be kind of scary. There’s that worry of turning over an idea to write about or an edit that needs to be done. What’s going to happen? Will you like it? That’s why I take the time to explain what I do, and why. My first experience of having a manuscript edited was horrifying. It was enough to make a person swear off writing forever. I won't do that to you! I want you to experience the absolute joy in holding a copy of your book with your name on it. I love to work with clients to make sure what they see in their mind is what happens on paper. Everything I do? It has one purpose. To enhance your story and help you be the best.Short Story Writing

I've been writing regularly since my first newspaper job in college in 1986, and I've been editing others' writing off-and-on since 1989 -- at my first newspaper job out of college. I've written one unpublished novel and three published books of nonfiction -- two on the rights of children in society, and a brand-new U.S. Constitution. I've written dozens of professional essays for online magazines, including The Savvy Street. I taught writing briefly at the university level (1995) and conducted dozens of private classes at home on "organized thinking" to freelancers from 1993 to 2006. I have a high level of motivation on projects, enjoying the challenges of such undertakings, as well as working with others, when the opportunity arises. I love the writing and editing process immensely.Short Story Writing

I've been a published author for decades, with novels, short stories, and reviews to my credit. I am also a developmental editor and ghostwriter with excellent references from my many satisfied clients. The video to the left is a book trailer I created in PowerPoint for JERSEY GHOULS (2018). My first book was, oddly enough, a children’s book, DINOSAUR DRESS UP, published by Tambourine Press (a division of William Morrow) in 1992. Since then, I’ve published many other books, mostly science fiction, fantasy, and horror. I’ve also ghostwritten more than a dozen works of science fiction, fantasy, memoirs, and cozy mysteries. My short story "In the Conservatory" was nominated for the Pushcart Prize. In 2024, Regal House began publishing my trilogy of Young Adult books set in ancient Egypt. The first book is titled MURDER IN MENNEFER. The second, IMHOTEP AND THE QUEST TO KUSH, will be published in June of 2025. I’m a trained artist, and have had hundreds of drawings, paintings, and illustrations to my credit, over a freelance career spanning 50 years. I’ve designed everything from Christmas cards to tattoos. I'm an enthusiastic collaborator, and take pride in delivering projects on or ahead of deadline. I live in Rockingham County, North Carolina with my wife and occasional collaborator, novelist Grace Marcus. I also play a mean kit of drums and performed in bands for over five decades. My pledge to clients: I will never use ChatGPT in any aspect of my work for you. What you will get is 100% Al Sirois. Some recent references: Thank you for your creativity and professionalism. A M-K Allen S is a very creative writer. His storylines are interesting and intriguing. He meets all deadlines, communicates well, collaborates in a collegial way, and produces an entertaining story. I highly recommend Allen and would be happy to hire him again. J W A big thank-you to Allen for a job well done in editing my story and adding some much needed depth to some of its characters. Allen kept me informed, offered suggestions to help bring the story to life, and put in regular hours. Thanks, Al. D GShort Story Writing

My name is Brian Hawkins. I am a former English teacher and presently, a tech/proposal writer, a comic book creator/writer, and a professional freelance writer. I understand the importance of the written expression when it comes to conveying ideas, thoughts, and feelings effectively. Communication is about informing and persuading, tapping into the human condition and what makes individuals alike as well as differ. Poignant writing connects ideas and people and moves people into action. I have had the fortunate career of attempting to mold minds in education for seventeen years, helping enlighten and teach a life skill (how to write) that the next generation can carry with them to better equip them in the ever changing world. I believe that my career as an educator was intimately synced to my career as a writer. As I have evolved as a person, I also in my career, leaving the field of education to be a writer full-time. In addition to writing professionally for a business, I am an editor for Mad Cave Studios, a freelance writer for BlackBox Comics and Zenescope Entertainment, and the author of two children chapter books for North Star Editions Publishing/Jolly Fish Press. I also have a creator owned comic book series, BLACK COTTON, with Scout Comics and a self-published horror comic book series titled, THE LUNATIC, THE LOVER, & THE POET. In a nutshell: I'm an adventurous introvert. I have a great love for the outdoors and the written word - these two things make up the core of who I am. In my free time, I can be found backpacking, camping, exploring new locations & cultures, rock climbing, exploring with my dog, pouring over my field guides to identify new-to-me plant, insect, and animal species, reading in my hammock with some wine, writing for clients or creatively for myself, or, most recently, ice climbing. I push myself physically to literally climb mountains, and mentally to be the best field ecologist and writer that I can be. I am always seeking to learn and grow. I've been working on Upwork for the past 5 years. My experience includes writing original content (can be SEO), researching peer-reviewed sources, editing content for accuracy, syntax, grammar, and readability, formatting articles (including image enhancement & alteration), alt-tagging for SEO, creation of app content, creating social media content to attract more readers, corresponding with/answering questions from readers, and I'm able to work well alone or as part of a team. I'm incredibly adaptable and a quick learner, so even if I don't have a tremendous amount of experience in a particular area, chances are I can pick it up and get the work done both efficiently and accurately. I've written articles on topics ranging from architecture to water quality to personal challenge and growth to native/invasive plant and animal species worldwide. Easygoing, yet ambitiously passionate about conservation, eco-sustainability, writing, and having new experiences and adventures. Very self-motivated and eager to learn. Enthusiastic, patient, steadfast, and hardworking environmental professional with experience collecting and analyzing data in the field, proper identification of native and invasive flora and fauna, habitat assessment/restoration of a variety of ecosystem types (oak-pine barrens, Midwestern savanna, transitional South African bush savanna, wetlands, upland forest, and riparian ecosystems). Skilled at habitat assessment surveys, invasive plant control, wildlife population surveys, quadrat-level botanical sampling, use of dichotomous keys, and diseased wildlife sampling. Very much a silver-linings kind of person, able to work long hours in strenuous field conditions (or behind a laptop!) while maintaining a positive attitude whether working alone or in a team. Goal-oriented, able to see how small-picture projects work into the bigger picture. Proficient at both scientific writing and creative writing, as well as formatting and editing. Lover of travel, new places, and new cultures. I greatly enjoy and have a knack for writing, proofreading, editing, and providing constructive critique. I've been writing for as long as I actually *could* write, and in eighth grade I won second place out of hundreds of entries for my fictional short story in a statewide writing competition called The Detroit Free Press Writing Competition (I'm from Michigan). In that moment, my lively imagination and passion for writing truly began to take root and flourish. As a recent college graduate, I am accustomed to composing several papers per week, typically ranging from 3-20 pages in length. During my first couple of years of college, I majored in English with an emphasis on creative writing. However, while I greatly enjoy reading and writing, a profound love and respect for nature has always been intricately woven into my very being. As such, I changed my major to Natural Resources Management with an emphasis on Wildlife Ecology, with a minor in biology and geographic information systems (GIS). Consequently, my writing interests and skills have broadened, and I've become quite adept at both conducting peer-reviewed research as well as composing lab reports, research papers, and presentations. In addition, I often proofread, edit, and critique papers encompassing a plethora of topics for friends and colleagues. In my free time, I write short stories, primarily science fiction and fantasy spliced with realistic fiction, and dabble in poetry. A few years ago, I studied abroad in South Africa and Swaziland. The focus was on international field biology and ecotourism sustainability, but the experiences encompassed so much more than that - the people, the incredible cultures, the politics and history, the stunning wildlife and ecology. I've found that I greatly enjoy writing about these various adventures and bringing them to life again on paper, and as I continue to travel and experience more of the world and myself I will continue to write about not only the experiences themselves but to also incorporate them in unique ways into my short stories and poetry. One of my greatest goals in life is to someday write a book. In the meantime, I hope to pave a sustainable living for myself via doing one of the things that I love most - writing.Short Story Writing
