Similarly, through my role as an ice skating marshal, I was responsible for working efficiently under pressure to ensure customers received their correct shoes at the end of the ice skating session and dealing with any customer enquiries regarding the facilities. I was able to develop my organisational skills which was important as I was working up to 14-hour shifts during the Christmas period. I was able to gain experience in social media marketing and advertising through working with RunThrough UK and Party Hard Travel. As an event staff member for RunThrough UK, I lead the social media for certain running events (e.g. Gloucester half-marathon, 10k & 5k event), creating engaging reels for the RunThrough Instagram page. I also worked to sell merchandise, enticing customers to purchase clothing bundles from the event (hoodies, t-shirts, leggings, etc.). Similarly, while working as a holiday representative for Party Hard Travel, I was responsible for frequently posting on the Party Hard Travel Instagram page, interacting with customers through Q&A’s, polls, and sharing videos and photos of customers in resort. As well as social media roles, I was also responsible for managing large groups of guests who purchase a holiday package – up to 300 guests at any one time. I handled guests’ event schedules, liaised with venue owners and activity managers to ensure guests’ smooth entry into events.
