Hi there, I am an expert Oracle APEX developer and have been using APEX for more than 12 years. Through my development career, I have developed well over 200 APEX applications including the database build. Many of these projects have been enterprise scale systems with hundred of concurrent users. Many developers will claim to know APEX. The problem, however, is APEX is rather easy to learn, but it's also easy to make a mess and to go about things the wrong way. You want a secure, scaleable, and most of all, supportable application. In my most recent work, I managed a team of junior developers, taught them APEX and guided them through the correct development process. For me, there are some fundemental issues to be addressed in any APEX project: - The application logic ought to reside in the database and not in the application - The application must enforce a solid user security model - All pages should have sub-second rendering - The application should make use of pre-established standards - APEX_DEBUG should be used to properly instrument all pl/sql code - Unless business logic demands it, declarative components should always be used for performance - Large applications are best divided into scalable modules - A proper development lifecycle should be employed - Reusability should never be sacrificed for business logic Please do let me know if you have any questions.
