We have set up Azure Data Factory which via config will pick these files up from on-premise, and then call copy commands in Snowflake to ingest. We have used Azure blob storage and configured SHIRs (Self Hosted Integration Runtime) for Dev and Prod which we use for connecting to Snowflake and other areas where we managed IP lockdown for security. After loading the data into a snowflake, we are creating views to build VM output and connect Power BI. Project #2: Client: Dow Chemical USA Business Objective: The main objective of this project is to migrate existing on-premises/legacy databases like Oracle, SQL Server2002/2005 old versions of SSIS packages, SSRS reports, and MS Access to Azure cloud using IaaS & PaaS models. Historic Data Migration of from oracle database to Azure Cloud. This project was related to migrating existing on-premise applications to Microsoft Azure (IaaS and PaaS mode). Existing Applications were a combination of asp and oracle, asp and MS Access, and SQL server 2005/08. I converted those DB to Microsoft SQL Server 2014 and for MS Access/ oracle databases convert schema to SQL server2014 using SSMA and for Oracle Pl/SQL write many queries manually. For data migration, I created SSIS Packages/ SQL jobs and deployed these jobs on a cloud server. Roles & Responsibilities: • Understand business requirements. • Developed SSIS packages for data migration. • Performed DBA activities for deploying SSIS packages /SSRS reports. • Backup and restore the database on a cloud environment from SQL Server 2014. • Implemented TDE certificates, and replication. • Worked on performance tuning for slow-running queries. • Skills Used - Azure SQL, MS Access, Oracles, SSIS, and Data Migration.
