Profile of Munir Chowdhury -------------at a Glance
I, Munir Chowdhury, a Professional Trainer & Management Consultant of “Fame Consulting and Learning Services”. I have got 25 years of working experiences in different industries, out of which Eighteen years in multinational and corporate firms, as simultaneous, twelve years as adjunct faculty member in the private universities, ten years as professional trainer and consultant.
I worked as Chief Executive Officer of “Professional Advancement Bangladesh Limited-(PABL)” a subsidiary of Green Delta Insurance, for last three years (Dec. 2019-Nov. 2022). The responsibilities of mine there were to, provided consultancy services to different financial companies and corporate houses, such as financial modelling and forecasting, investment analyses, financial analyses, venture capital, private equity services, research and other necessary management works. Apart from the consultancy services, the responsibilities of mine were to identify the requirements of training, prepare modules, conduct the training programs on finance/insurance/ entrepreneurship for corporate houses and educational institutions and organize different kinds of local and international workshops and seminars for the professional development for the insurance industry.
Recently (April 2022- Jan.2023), I worked as a National Consultant & Project Coordinator for “Country Diagnostic on Inclusive Insurance and Risk Finance for Bangladesh, of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)”. A study on unserved and underserved vulnerable and low-income population of Bangladesh in insurance sector
I worked as a National Consultant of National Agriculture Technology Project (NATP-1), a project of World Bank and IDA, on financial management capacity assessment in 2014. I also worked as an Academic consultant of Ranada Prasad Shah University, a project of Kumudini Welfare Trust Bengal Ltd. and worked as Management consultant of Shanghai Huiyi International LTD.
I worked as a faculty member of different private universities such as Daffodil University, University of Development Alternatives and Stamford University.
Apart from Masters in Accounting from Dhaka University, I obtained MBA degree with finance major from the Dhaka University. I started my career as course coordinator of Bangladesh Open University. Then I joined in a multinational organization, Duncan Brothers (Bangladesh) Ltd and worked there on procurement policies and financial decision making for fifteen years.
Moreover, I have been working with new area, venture capital investment in Bangladesh for quite long time. Two international journals have been published namely on “Fund raising in start-up with venture capital” and “The future growth of venture capital in Bangladesh”. The areas of my interest are in financial management and analysis, corporate finance, asset management and venture capital financing, entrepreneurship, strategic management, business opportunity and ideas generation.
Being a management consultant, a professional trainer and extensive experience in corporate business firms, I am looking for some challenging opportunities where I can apply my financial, management, insurance, research, training and consultancy services and share my knowledge in international arena.
