My impact in education includes: -co-leading a math problem-solving schoolwide approach to solving word problems at a PreK3-8th grade dual language immersion school where students' state exams, in grades 3-8, increased from 42% proficiency in year 1 of the initiative to 68% proficiency in year 4 of the program. -developing and managing the virtual English language arts curriculum for elementary, middle, and high school students, for a virtual tutoring company, where elementary and middle school students made an average of 2.5 years of growth in vocabulary acquisition and reading comprehension in one school year. -developing, piloting, managing, and implementing a hybrid mathematics intervention with tutoring company that as a rotational model with 4 stations (i.e. discourse, hands-on, virtual tutor, and blended learning) where 6th grade math students received culturally and linguistically responsive high dosage tutoring lessons that improved their initial average exit ticket from 23% accuracy in the 1st month to 78% accuracy in 6th month of the program with an increase from 20% of students identifying being confident in mathematics to 96% of students identifying being confident in mathematics.
