I'm a Canadian who has been living and working in Colombia for the last 26 years. I am the owner of an esteemed english institute here in the city of Neiva, a medium-sized city about 5 hours southwest of the capital of Bogotá. I have been teaching english as a second language to spanish speakers for this time as well. I have done spontaneous translating and literature translating for many different companies, from government agencies, to petroleum companies to the United Nation Refugee claims division, to name a few. I studied english in the University of Lethbridge in my home country of Canada for 4 years before coming here to Colombia at the age of 25. At the time I thought I was going to be an english teacher in Canada but fate brought me here to educate the beautiful Colombian people. I am fluent in english, my native language, and also Spanish. As I mentioned above I have worked for the United Nation Refugee claims division, I was in charge of translating all of the refugee victim impact statements as well as translating all the necessary forms for the refugees seeking asylum through the United Nations program based here in this city.
