A native Russian speaker, I spent 35 years in Russia and I am able to translate in a way that will come across as natural to the reader. A linguist and translator with a business background spanning several sectors, I approach every assignment whatever the scale or subject with the same professional but approachable attitude. I had my first career as a bilingual secretary, then as a sales manager in French companies, and also as a visa specialist at the French Consulate in Moscow. I have also lived in Washington DC, for more than 9 years, during which I took the opportunity to study English as a second language and work and volunteer in the USA. My specialized subject areas are pedagogy and psychology, which I studied for several years. As a freelancer, I am translating and subtitling Psychology courses on the Coursera learning platform on Smartling CAT tool. As a volunteer, I want to use my skills and expertise to ensure people have access to information in a language they understand. For other translating projects, I am using the CafeTran Espresso CAT tool. Also, as a freelancer, I am currently working as a website and app tester and looking for new opportunities to use my knowledge to further my career in new translation endeavors.
