Available for French-English and English-French translation. Specializations: literature, marketing, websites. Experience: I am currently working part-time on an ongoing project with the Meister team : I translate and localize all the content of the Meister apps (mostly MeisterTask and MindMeister) from English to French using the Lokalize web-based software. I am also working with a design furniture company (interiorr.com) as well as a sports event and travel company (P1 Travel), translating their website and all products descriptions from English to French. I developed most of my translation skills during my years at the Sorbonne University, especially when writing two 100+ pages theses about translation and traductology. I translated A Gift From Earth, a Sci-Fi novel by Larry Niven, between 2018 and 2019. The novel has been published in an omnibus (one book containing three French translations of Niven's novels) by the French publishing house Mnémos in September 2019. I also translated the novel Iceberg, by Paul Kavanagh, in the course of my Master's degree. Education: After obtaining my Baccalaureate, I first obtained a BA in business English and German at the Sorbonne University in Paris, then moved on to a Master's degree of English, writing two 100+ pages thesis on Traductology and Translation. My first thesis was centred on translating excerpts from The Black Guard, a Fantasy novel by A.J. Smith and analysing the market for Fantasy translation in France. For My second thesis, I translated Iceberg, a fiction novel by Paul Kavanagh; I operated a twofold translation: I translated the first half of the novel from scratch and the second half in post-editing, after processing the text through the translation tool called DeepL. In both cases, I proceeded to analyse the outcomes of the translation using a specific set of criteria; I aimed to assess the differences in quality and productivity between the two methods. The good news is : a human being is still very much necessary to produce a high quality translation !
