IMAGINATION and INTUITIVE UNDERSTANDING of what a reader is looking for are the two most important qualities for success as a writer. I find this to be true for just about every type of content - from novels and children's stories, to web content and resumes - a writer's task is to get in and get out, find that delicate balance between giving enough information to pull the reader in, without adding excess fluff. And to do this in a way that makes whatever your product is, sing with a voice that stands out of the crowd. Of course that content varies widely depending on the category, but still - my opening statement stands true for it all. I am from Monterey, California, USA. but I currently live in Naxos, Greece with my husband where we own and operate a local restaurant. My education has mostly centered around fine art - I paint with oils, draw and have experience in everything from figure sculpture and ceramics to music. However, I have always excelled in writing, from essays and web content to song lyrics and creative writings. I am currently working on my debut novel. I am a chef and world traveler so if anyone out there is looking for content involving any of the above, I'm your girl. I have 20 years experience working with people from all walks of life, all over the world. I am very good at reading people and situations and am talented in intuiting the needs of my clients.
I am a big fan of satire and witty humor (some of my favorite authors that come to mind in this category - Tom Robbins, Anthony Bourdain, Mark Twain), children's silly, quirky writers (Dr. Seuss), and I also really admire exceptionally well written, clean and concise authors like such as the classics Earnest Hemingway and John Steinbeck. I have read constantly, from the moment I first learned as a child and as a result I have a keen eye for excellent writing and story crafting. I am a perfectionist myself and have been known to exit a blog or website the second I see sloppy grammar, lame writing or typos. If a company/individual does not take the time to perfect the message they are trying to get across, then for me it is not worth reading.
