    As a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years experience working as a Consultant in a Big 4 Firm, I have a wide range of knowledge, skills and experience within Financial and Management Accounting (including process improvement through automation) in both the government and private sectors. I have professional indemnity insurance for consulting services. I am a Xero Certified Advisor and have a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Economics degree from the Australian National University. Continual learning is a passion of mine and I have complemented my accounting experience with a very good understanding of accounting related software and the ability to automate processes through custom coding and by leveraging automation software. I was the Costing and Profitability (C&P) lead for the CFO Advisory Team, where I was responsible for building upon the current knowledge base in the C&P team, business development (e.g. liaising with clients and writing proposals), assisting in the hiring of new staff and mentoring current and new staff. Over this time I developed a wide variety of skills relating to the improvement of the finance function of businesses, and have worked with clients in a range of industries such as Health, Defence, Education, Food, Sport, Public Sector (National, State and Local) and Not-for-Profits. In particular, I am well-versed in assisting clients with: - Budgeting/Forecasting across the entire Financial Planning and Analysis lifecycle, including developing and maintaining budgets for areas such as Capital, Other Works, Workforce, Maintenance and IT. - Experience with reviewing the current budget approach and methodologies of a company in order to make recommendations, and then in implementing these recommendations. Financial Analysis and modelling is also a strong point as I have reviewed numerous financial models that support tenders, procurement decisions, cost reduction initiatives, business cases and business restructuring initiatives. - Proficiency in Xero and MYOB Advanced, including automating bank reconciliations, developing Chart of Accounts and Entity structures, and integrating APIs into BI tools. I am a Xero Certified Advisor. - Conducting Chart of Account reviews to identify areas for improvements, including the use of Sub-accounts, and Project and Task codes to facilitate a more granular level of reporting within specific areas of the business. - Project Management, primarily in the planning and design phases for IT implementations. This includes building solution documents to be used in the build and test phases of the implementation. My technical coding experience provides a good base for understanding and working with data and database structures, understanding the migration process and the upskilling required for staff to use new systems. - Cost and Financial Modelling (using Excel, VBA and Power BI) to better equip clients to make strategic decisions by more accurately calculating the impact of cost drivers on their business. - Cost and Profitability Analysis, through approaches such as activity-based costing (as per above), to assist clients in making go or no-go decisions on prospective products or services to provide, or to cease current offerings to customers. - Process Improvement through automation (API Integration, Data Management, Cloud Accounting etc.) which allows for the more accurate completion, in a timely manner, of budgeting, reporting and administration activities. I have experience with working with cloud accounting software such as SAP, Xero, MYOB, Zoho Books and Sage, and extensive experience with BI tools such as Excel and Power BI. - Supporting tender processes (as a financial analyst) from document development to the successful selection of a Tenderer. Supporting numerous activities such as the development of the Pricing Book and the Evaluation approach, financial analysis of tender responses, gap analysis to ensure a like-for-like assessment of tenders, and support in the negotiation phase with preferred tenderers. - Financial Statement Consolidation, including developing new Chart of Account structures, creating new related party accounts, identifying and eliminating related party transactions, and the development of approaches and tools to automate the process. This well-rounded and extensive experience allows me to offer clients a number of vital finance function services, without having to engage and manager a number of other contractors to complete the work.
