Our current product database is designed in such a way that there must be multiple entries of the same product data for each client. We want to be able to input data once and access the product data for multiple clients.
The freelancer will work with us to understand how we use the data. We need one database for all product data with no duplicates, triplicates, etc. Either fix the current database or design a new one that will allow us to enter data easily and one time only. Create a simple product data entry form for entering new products or editing existing product data. Revise or create forms/reports we are currently using that list product data and inventory information. Explain to us how the new database works.
A qualified candidate will have the following:
- Excellent understanding of MS Access
- Excellent analytical skills
- Willingness to make recommendations to improve this project
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Attention to detail
The finished product will be a consolidated database with a simple user interface. There will be one data entry/edit point for each product. The product data can then be pulled for multiple client inventories and entered onto various forms. There are 3 client-specific forms that need to be created: an overall inventory list, a category inventory list, and a product detail sheet. We’ll also need to pull a product list from the overall inventory (not client-specific) for each category.
Deadline: we hope to have the finished product by May 1st.
