I'm hiring a writer to write longform (1500+ words), detailed, research-based articles about the chemistry of coffee, how coffee affects the human body, and other topics not directly related to coffee. I am looking for someone to work with long-term (at least for 3-6 months), so only apply if you are looking for a long-term position. To excel in this job, you must:
a) Be a knowledgeable, trained researcher. The writing you submit should be researched in journal articles and peer-reviewed research (with sources provided), not simply copying other blogs or Wikipedia.
b) Have a strong grasp of biology, chemistry and/or agriculture. If you studied these subjects in university, that is a definite plus, but if not, you should at least know the basics of both topics. This is ESSENTIAL to succeed in this role.
In your application, please clearly answer these two questions:
1) What experience do you have with chemistry, biology and agriculture? if you've studied it formally, please give details. If you have not studied it formally, please state where or how you have learned about these topics.
2) Is coffee acidic, alkaline, basic, or something else? How do the two most prominent types of coffee beans compare on this metric?
