We are using a custom app written in FileMaker to generate correspondence documents (cover letters) which we'd like to have editable in Google Drive.
What we need is for you to develop a custom web app via Google's API and SDK that can ingest our text (via xml or other format you recommend) and have google log us in, create a new document, import data, retain formatting, and return to us a url and/or record id for the newly created google doc so we can get to it from our app's web browser window. You would tell us exactly how to provide the data so it retains its formatting. Our apps would communicate with each other via php or xml (which FileMaker supports).
We don't need google to host any templates, each file we send to google will be unique. We will, however, need to specify header and footer information (such as page numbering). There is also some custom graphical information (JPG or PNG, etc) that would appear in the header, like a company's logo. The body or footer needs to contain an image of the signer's digital signature.
- We will use FileMaker to open a browser window to host the google doc session. We like this to display without google's headers or branding.
- We will provide the google doc login credentials.
- We can call PHP script to grab a url address or webpage contents that would contain the link to the google doc and any other needed info (like a record ID).
