Hello, I am a writer, but I'm not a perfect storyteller. My novella has just finished it's alpha stage and is ready for a new set of eyes to help improve it.
Please make a bid for the work. I feel for 35,000 words, $35 would be fair. The deadline is in 1 week(you could finish it in a few hours).
Please also tell me your strengths and how you could improve it.
I already have 3 paid and 17 non-paid beta readers.
Here is the book's Query so you can learn more about the topic, the book, and me.
Dear (AGENT NAME),
The antagonist of free-man is here, and its name is Social Credit. China is experimenting with Sesame Credit, a Social Credit system that seeks to purify society by rewarding those who exhibit “civilized behaviors” and destroying everyone else. As top party officials shout that low scorers will be obliterated, the lives of millions, including people I know, have already been destroyed. In 2020, all 1.4 billion Chinese citizens will be mandatorily plunged into this darkness.
Ola Credit is the first, and the only book to take on the monster that is Social Credit. All major media outlets have condemned this concept with a story or two. In the next year, Social Credit will become universally reviled. This book will only be the first of many combating this new evil.
Ola Credit is a contemporary American dystopia, complete at 40,000 words. It is no labor of love, but a labor of terror. I believe that a Social Credit system, backed by ever-present cameras, artificial intelligence, and a false sense of righteousness, will destroy humanity as we know it.
Ola Credit: Elle can’t go to university, she can’t take the bus, and she can’t even check a book out of the library; all because her uncles Social Credit Score is too low. Worse, she can’t even complain, even when her teachers ask, not if she wants to live.
As her mother advocates for the safety that Ola Credit provides, and her father sacrifices himself to raise their families score, Elle seeks her uncle out in the depths of the Nail City to learn of the hidden dangers she faces. Inside the Nail City she experiences the strange and beautiful world of the socially bankrupt, those marked worthless by their score. When Ola detects flaws in the way credit is scored, teachers, students, friends, and family disappear. With blood on her hands and black smoke filling the iron sky, Elle vows to destroy the system. But Ola has self-updated and sees all.
I’ve spent the majority of my adult life living under authoritarian regimes, including three years in China. I’ve seen protests, riots, revolutions, and coups. I’ve had my friends arrested on false charges, had to deal with constant corruption and came close to death far too many times. I’m currently getting my second masters, an M.Ed. at Harvard so I can explore how stories can be used to educate and liberate souls. My ultimate goal in education, writing, and life, is to fight the rise of global fascism.
