Looking for an experienced WordPress developer to create a plugin that adds an auto-complete feature to WordPress' search form.
The purpose of this search form is to find a local business. I would like the form to display category names as suggestions to users while their search is being typed . The State and City a business is located in are represented by categories and subcategories, respectively. For example, Texas is a category that has Dallas as its subcategory. So while a user is typing search terms to this effect, the auto-complete "Dallas, Texas" should be displayed.
The search form will also have two check boxes, each with the name of a specific post tag associated with them. These tag names represent a type of service that a local business provides. The user must first select at least one of these checkboxes before beginning to type their search.
Once the user submits their search query they will be taken to the search results page which will only display posts filed under the searched category and subcategory and tagged with the selected tag names.
The search form should be able to be displayed as a Widget and should also have its own shortcode for placement wthin WordPress pages. Additionally, the search form should be built with responsive design in mind and have unique HTML attributes so that it can be styled or extended as necessary.
Developers with proven expertise in this area of WordPress development are welcome to apply.
