Myself and a colleague are aiming to become excellent strategists in business.
We currently oversee a small team, and we want to expand to 50 plus people.
At the moment we use up a lot of our time critically thinking about ‘what is’ & ‘how to use’ strategy.
We feel we could be a thousand times more productive if we understood a wealth of proven strategic models - specifically military strategy.
We came to the conclusion that all successful strategies, in life, business, and sports have roots in age old, proven military strategy.
So, we want to learn a huge range of military strategy throughout the ages.
We want to find someone who can take us through the great books that have been written on military strategy and battles.
We currently have two books in mind:
1 - Robert Greene - The 33 Strategies of War
2 - Sun Tzu - The Art of War (specifically the 2015 illustrated version, by Jessica Hagy)
We’d be on a Zoom call with you, and one of us can do a screen share with the book, while you walk us through the book and teach (with examples from famous battles) how to understand the core principles of military strategy.
The ideal person is someone who enjoys hypothesizing about strategy and how to employ it in situations outside of warfare.
Someone who has “on-tap” knowledge about strategies and techniques used in famous battles.
Someone who can commit to teaching for one hour each weekday for an extended period of time.
I would also like to record the consultations. Your voice would be featured but not your video. My webcam video would be included. I would upload the videos to my YouTube channel.
If teaching strategy to an eager and willing student sounds like something you would enjoy, then please respond using the code word: “Operation Pig Bristle” and tell me a bit about yourself, and why you’d enjoy passing on your knowledge.
