Objective: The objective of this project is to perform static stress analysis of a threaded bolt-andnut connection. The connection is modelled as a bolt-nut-plate
assembly. The M20x2.5 bolt is preloaded with a tension of 10
KN which is applied by tightening the nut with a torque.

Submittal: A two or three dimensional finite element model of the bolt-nutplate assembly should be developed in ANSYS and compared to the typical hand-calculated stresses. For more details on hand-calculations.
The analysis should determine the Von-Mises stress under the given preload
tension at the threads. Write a technical report summarizing your results and
include the assumptions you made regarding the boundary conditions, mesh size,
