We are currently looking for an artist to help us convert some of our game art into Flash symbols.
The overall work encompasses two main tasks.
1. Converting raster images that represent game objects to vectors and creating centered Flash symbols. You will be supplied a layered PSD file, where each folder represents the symbol to be created.
2. Animate game objects (typically it will be the symbols created from the task listed above). Animations will range from the simple, such as scaling, skewing, or color filters, to the more complex that require you to cut up a game object into reusable symbols. For example, you may need to cut the head, torso, and arms of a game object in order to animate a character. Certain Animate features will not be allowed such as shape tweening. The resulting work must be memory optimal and able to be processed by our tool set.
This will potentially be an ongoing project and there can be times when we only want task 1 done or other times we want only task 2 done.
Ideal candidates must be well versed in Flash/Animate, have a solid understanding of how to cut up symbols into reusable symbols for animating, and a solid animator with an eye for subtle details such as secondary animations and other effects that enhance the visual appeal of an animation. A good knowledge of Illustrator is also useful, since it may be needed as part of the vectorization task. Past experience in game development is a plus, as you will be more aware of technical limitations (such as memory and why reuse is important) that are involved during game development.
Note that we are using the latest version of Adobe Animate CC. While it is not required you have the same version, you will need a version that can co-exist with the version we are using.
We require that candidates have a good command of English.
