I have an iPhone app which helps people to learn French verbs. An often requested feature is the ability to hear the how the word is pronounced. While it's possible to do this by using a computer-generate voice (like Siri), I would prefer to use the services of a native French speaker to offer an authentic sound.
The app shows how a verb can be conjugated into the various tenses, e.g. for the present tense "je vais, tu vas, "il/elle va". I would like to hire someone to read out each of those conjugations. A typical verb will have up to 150 different different conjugations. To give you an idea of what you would need to say, the following web page shows how "aller" is conjugated: http://www.conjugation-fr.com/conjugate.php?verb=aller&x=0&y=0
Initially, I would just like to record the top 20 most frequently used words but, if things go well, I'd like to record the entire database so there is the potential for a lot of work in the near future.
* Native French speakers only please. Also, I would prefer someone who lives in France (or has at least spent a long time in France) as I think that's what people will expect when hearing how a word is pronounced.
* I'd like the recordings to have a fairly neutral accent if possible.
Interested in applying? Please send me a 10/15 second sample of your voice reading French text. If you're not sure what to say, the following will be fine:
Please quote for reading 20 verb (imagine reading everything on the following page 20 times: http://www.conjugation-fr.com/conjugate.php?verb=aller&x=0&y=0)
As discussed, there is the potential for a lot more work if things go well (the app has almost 700 verbs). For this reason I would prefer to work with people who will be willing to work together again in the future.
