A couple of established romance pens are looking for three or four new freelance ghostwriters to join our team. We're willing to negotiate a per word rate between .01/word to .013/word to START for INTERMEDIATE candidates. If you're EXPERT level, we will gladly pay you more. If you're INTERMEDIATE and you do a project or two for us that goes well (and is on time!) we'll be happy to pay you more for the next one.
Are you a native English speaker? An experienced romance writer with several published or ghostwritten titles under your belt? Do you love writing romance in the MM or fantasy romance categories? Do you love wringing every bit of emotion out of your characters before finally giving them their HEA?
If so, we want you to write for us. We're looking for writers with experience in MM and fantasy romance (not paranormal romance). These should be more George RR Martin and less Twilight. We're looking for MM fantasy that's dark and dramatic, with lots of angst. The sex scenes for these don't have to be as steamy as some other genres, but we still want lots of detail and emotion. We're NOT looking for guy porn, here. This is romance, in a fantasy world setting.
These stories will be in the 30,000 word range. Writing style should not be too flowery or literary--we want standard sentence structures that are easy to read. There should be lots of conflict and emotion. Lots of sensory information, sights, sounds, feelings, etc. Even though the writing should not be too complicated, it still needs to have that *oomph* that makes romance readers happy.
Again, this isn't an entry-level job. This post is asking for INTERMEDIATE level, professional writers, not beginners, please. You must have a firm grasp of story mechanics, write great dialogue, and have a well-developed and professional voice that will not require us to hire another ghostwriter to fix. We'd prefer EXPERT level writers, and we'd be happy to pay a higher rate for higher skills.
We prefer books to be completed in two weeks, and will pay a $50 bonus for books that come in within that time.
What we provide:
* An outline or synopsis with all the significant plot lines. All you need to do is work your writer magic and bring it to life.
* Or, if you prefer, you can work up your own outline, which we'll pay you for.
* You'll have an editor who will work with you on the project to give you any help you may need as you go along
* The opportunity to stay as busy as you want. As long as we like your work (and the readers like it!) we'll be happy to keep you busy!
* The potential for increases in rate of pay, depending on factors like how well the books sell, the kinds of reviews they get, how well you know the industry, etc. If you consistently give us books that sell well, we'll consistently share the rewards.
Before you apply, you must understand that this is work for hire. We pay you a flat fee based on word count. There are no royalties going forward. You understand that you will hold no rights to the story whatsoever after we purchase it from you, and you will not be able to publicly take any credit for the work in any way.
We check for and report plagiarism. If that's your gig, please don't apply.
For everyone else, we hope these projects excite you and get your creative juices flowing. If so, we want to talk to you! We're looking for long-term relationships here, with professional and creative HEA's for everyone!
Please send us a couple of samples so we can read your work.
Thanks for reading our post. We look forward to speaking with you!
