Our office requires night shift nurses. We prefer licensed registered nurses, though this isn't a hard, fast requirement. What is a requirement, though, is that the applicant/candidate be tech savvy and good with computers, as well as be a superior communicator— confident and authoritative over the phone, via online communications media (such as text/SMS, social media, and email). ALSO: You'll be required to report to our office in Makati City in the Philippines.
We work with a family-owned, small private medical practice in the San Francisco Bay Area. Their patient population is largely Filipino, so speaking Taglish and Tagalog comes often/frequently at the office. For this medical practice (which we are a sister company of), we provide phone support and technology support to both the practice itself, as well as its business partners and patients.
Charting— which is why we need someone with experience/background in medical terminology (i.e. terms of diagnoses, clinical terms, etc.).
Patient Registration— assisting patients with filling in their online charts and other forms (registering their phone numbers and other contact information; health insurance information, etc.).
"Simple Billing"— we work with an outside billing office, so there's minimal work that we do with regards to medical billing, but we do assist this satellite billing office with some tasks related to billing (but not much).
MODES OF COMMUNICATION
Largely electronic— email, social media (chat), text/SMS. This is more efficient, accurate, and easier to log and record (for good record keeping and auditing, than voice calls).
Phones— more and more we've actually been "phasing phones out," you can say. Our patients interact with us via a smartphone, mobile device app, so much of our interaction (as we prefer) is done (self-service via knowledgebase) or via the electronic communication channels mentioned above.
