I spend too much time trying to learn technical skills needed to keep my little WordPress site running smoothly. Can you help?
I am looking for a dependable freelancer to check on my WordPress site regularly to make sure it looks good; is loading fast for desktops and mobile; and is achieving my (fairly simple) objectives, e.g., increase email and RSS subscribers, comments, and social media mentions.
English language proficiency is important.
Here are some problems I have had recently that have consumed way too much of my time trying to understand and fix. These are the kind of problems I hope you can take care of for me.
>> I have used a staging site to write new blog posts, make design changes, etc. It has worked well overall, but I recently found that instead of using Easy Push, I needed to use Advanced Push if I wanted to preserve recent Comments, i.e., not overwrite them. However, the technical knowledge required was too much for me.
>> I discovered that links to PDF files I had uploaded were mysteriously being changed - ".cdn.cloudflare.net" was being added to the URL. Fortunately, Cloudflare support was able to help me figure out the problem, but it took some time because I had to deactivate all plugins and reactivate them one-at-a-time. It turned out that I needed to change a setting on JCH-Optimize Pro.
>> On a smart phone, only blog and page titles showed - the body of a post or a page disappeared. I was using WPTouch at the time. Viewing my site on a desktop worked fine.
>> Changes I made to design using Design Palette Pro (DPP) were not showing up on the site. The company that developed DPP, Reaktiv Studios (reaktivstudios.com) has very helpful customer support via email during weekdays. With their help I eventually figured out that settings within JCH-Optimize Pro were causing a conflict. But it took a couple of days of back-and-forth emails.
>> I use a service, Lux Scientiae for secure email and forms that meet privacy and confidentiality laws in the United States (HIPAA laws). When I send a test message from my personal email to the secure email I set up with Lux Scientiaefirstname.lastname@example.org--I received this message back: "Message not delivered. Your message couldn't be delivered to email@example.com because the remote server is misconfigured. Relay access denied." I have been communicating with LuxSci - getting close to a solution - had to change MX settings; add a TXT file; and a couple of other things, but it is taking a lot of my time.
>> I use FeedBlitz for RSS & email subscriptions to blog updates. I had trouble getting the sign-up forms to render correctly on my site. FeedBlitz has good support but it’s via email, business hours, so it takes a while.
Their advice: "Paste your code into the text area and save. Do not switch back to the Visual editor. Unfortunately, the Visual editor “fixes” some characters breaking the code. With your sidebar form, choose the Custom HTML widget instead of the Text Widget and paste the form’s code into the sidebar."
This helped partly, but I still had problems. Next advice: "The plugin JCH Optimize Pro is the source of the issue … you may want to consult with their support on how to ensure the CSS remains intact for your forms." I have submitted a support ticket to JCH-Optimize Pro.
>> JCH-Optimize Pro is a challenge, but it has solved almost all problems identified by Google PageSpeed Insights, GTMetrix, etc.

* try to get me to buy products or services for which they are an affiliate or reseller;
* totally redesign my website;
* tell me to jump to a new hosting provider, WordPress theme, etc.
