I'm looking for a dedicated illustrator & animator for an upcoming YouTube channel on an ongoing, long-term basis.
The channel will feature educational videos that answer various historical questions in a humorous fashion (e.g.: "How did the Nazis flee to Argentina?" / "How did garden gnomes become popular?").
I've attached two examples of the style I'm aiming for below.
You'll notice that, although transitions between scenes are done through jump cuts, there is a minimal amount of animation going on. There are also accompanying sound effects, which in this case are very crudely added because this is a draft version. You should definitely think of creative ways to incorporate small amounts of animation and SFX to your scenes.
You will be paid based on the length of the videos you illustrate and animate. Each minute of video will earn you $50. Most of the videos will be between 5-7 minutes long, which means you will earn between $250 - $350 per video. I'm aiming for 1 video per month.
For each video, you will receive:
- a .wav audio file containing the narration;
- a Google doc containing the script of the narration and additional comments that may help you during editing;
Thus, in addition to great illustration skills and witty humor, you'll also need basic skills in video assembly and animation.
I'm looking forward to your applications!
