Our company provides training to engineering organizations to help their engineers be more effective managers and leaders. We ultimately want to develop an assessment that would measure how capable of an engineering manager, an engineer can be. We also eventually want this assessment to help companies understand the strengths and weaknesses of managers so they can build strong teams.
To do this, we need to collect data related to what makes engineering managers successful and to do that we need to survey successful managers on what has made them successful.
We have access to some very successful and high level engineers, but I don't know what questions to ask. I need help with someone experienced in designing surveys and collecting data.
