We need a poster design for an airport located in Japan.
I. Background. The airport is located in Iwakuni, Japan, the airport shares locations with a U.S. Marine Corps base (MCAS Iwakuni), and also has commercial flights by All Nippon Airlines. Bird and animal strikes are a serious problem at the installation, potentially endangering commercial and military aricraft. Part of the work I've been doing out there is a long series of wildlife surveys, we are also tasked to do some outreach to US Marine Corps personnel on how to reduce the potential for bird strikes.
II. Poster design. Roughly get themes from provided .ai file. Tanuki's are cute little animals, also called the Japanese raccoon dog. For some images of tanuki, they are common on the web: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_raccoon_dog. We have had a problem with base personnel feeding tanuki, they move across the airfield and can hit planes as they land, damaging the landing gear, and killing the tanuki. Part of the reason they are so common on the airfield is supplemental feeding and scavenging (trash). Poster size should be Arch C.
III. The posters are for information purposes only, will not be used for resale. Upon completion of the contract, artist releases control of the artwork and would be used at the discretion of MCAS Iwakuni/Kintaikyo airport. Artist may use the graphics in portfolio, but no text on the artwork indicating that its for MCAS Iwakuni/Kintaikyo Airport
IV. Deliverables. (1) Draft: due 5 days from accepting contract. Installation personnel will comment on the poster, (2) Artist will fold comments into a final version. Artist will supply adobe illustrator files (*.ai) for both draft and final versions.
