Do you love writing? Great. Do you have a passion for technology? Better. Do you measure the success of your writing by goal conversions? Beautiful. Are you comfortable being a chameleon and adapting your writing to any industry? Perfect.
We are a team of 15 designers and developers in Southern California. We’ve worked with clients like Cedars Sinai, Merck, McDonalds, and a bunch of well-funded startups. We are looking for immediate help with personalized applications to job postings (which is only about 25% of our sales effort but we're treating this as a sandbox to assess and train a new hire).
For this role, we need someone that understands the latest tech trends, lingo, and stacks. For example, we might tell you “this month we’re going to go after CRM jobs that require magento certification and have a minimum $50k budget” and we expect you to know what we’re talking about. After you’ve qualified the job posts that fit this criteria, you would dive into our team’s portfolio, availability, CVs (all of which would be made available to you). Then, you’d write up a personalized proposal that sounds like it came from where it came from - a professional, positively-reviewed U.S.-based firm that competes on product design, development, and investment into clients’ business outcomes, and not cheapness.) Typical posts are around 300-400 words. Once you’re up to speed, we would expect that you’d send out 10 a week within around 10 hours of writing, and month over month we expect a ~10% reply rate (something our management has achieved, and we’re looking to hire someone better than we are!)
Put "Let me persuade you" at the top of the cover letter. If you can be our go-to proposal writer, there will be opportunities to expand into our other cold outreach campaigns, client meetings, social media marketing, blogging, copywriting, case studies. Really, the possibilities are quite limitless, so you will be challenged every day to learn something new. Within a year, your jaw will drop at how much you’ve learned in a short time. For the right person, we are willing to invest in a consistent, 30-hour-per-week role.
