I need an illustrator to create instructions images of two new products. The material is flat, and users need to fold and connect it into a 3D structures. The final result should be a series of images which are B&W isometric stages of building, much like Ikea or origami instructions are designed.
You will get AI/PDF images of the flat design & images of the built pieces. You need to have a good understanding of going back and forth between 2D to 3D, and need to convey this understanding to the users through the images. This is pretty straightforward stuff, but you need some experience in converting 2D to 3D.
The space for display of the images is quite limited so you'll have to be creative and efficient with the number of images you prepare for each design, 5-10 steps at the most.
If your main skillset are 3D tools (SolidWorks, Max, SketchUp) this is fine, but note that the end results would be a simple framework only, without lighting and/or materials, so not a lot of rendering here. If your skillset are 2D tools (Illustrator, CorelDraw) this is also fine, but note that technical accuracy will be needed. CAD tools are also a good option, but lines have to be smooth.
Please note that the end result resembles mostly technical drawings, so no coloring, sophisticated brushes or shading effects will be needed.
For each product (2) there 4-5 different pieces to be built, so there are 10 models in total.
I am looking for a mix of experience and value
