My 14-year-old son is very interested in mechanics. I want him to also learn the physics behind the mechanics. Ideally, lessons should be organized to accompany practical experiments/projects. For example, learn how an electric engine works at the same time in theory and practice.
His knowledge of mathematics is pretty good. Some trig, some algebra (quadratic equations, simultaneous equations). But he needs some practice. Prone to making simple errors in arithmetic. I think it should be possible to use his interest in mechanics to get him learning about physics and perfecting his math skills at the same time.
Probably a couple classes a week. But there would be preparation time and possibly a nice homework regimen, so those couple classes actually turn out to be more work (for you and for him).
Really hoping to find someone who can take this idea and run with it, make it work. Please let me know if you are that person. Thanks.
