I am looking for a creative writer who can help me craft the next murder mystery game (see link below for game rules). Looking for someone passionate about writing fiction / creating characters / intrigue.
Essentially, the writer will need to design a series of characters with individual motivations & backgrounds, all with plausibility of committing the murder.
The game will have up to 15 characters, with 6 essential characters (without which the game will not work). I can share example of another game as reference to how this structure could work.
The writing of this game is estimated to take between 30-40 hours in total, and I hope to employ 1 writer for the duration of the project. There will also be other projects available after this for great writers who are interested. The project will be broken up into several milestones, as set below:
1. Game storyboard (5-7 hours): Came up with high level storyboard, characters backgrounds, relationships, motivations, plot points.
2. Write up of character backgrounds (6-8 hrs initial write up): 1-2 paragraph background on each character that gives player insight into the character & motivations, as well as costume suggestions.
3. Write up of round 1-3 interactions (~5-6 hours per round)
4. Character reveals at the end (2-3 hrs)
I will review each section and share feedback before we continue on to the next section (sequentially). You will be paid for both the initial write-up and the time for edits.
The two default genres are either steampunk or 'death on the Nile' (late 19th century), but potentially open to suggestions if you're passionate about another time period, and it could work for the game.
