We are looking for someone to work with us on Python projects. The sort of Python work we need includes the following:
1) Python 2.4 to 2.7 upgrade
2) Writing unit tests
3) Fixing bugs
4) Working with other people's Python code
5) Participating in code reviews
6) Participating in an agile software development team
Code reviews and development process is using Github and servers are Linux-based. Typical issues are to do with old code. The customer supports updating/fixing that code to reflect updated development standards.
Bottom line, we're hoping for someone who really 'gets' python - a 'pythonista' or something like that… Someone who works with the culture of python (which is a bit different from the culture of programming in other languages).
Ideally we'd like it if the candidate could work about 30 hours a week with weekday morning meetings with our client.
Strong communication and English speaking skills, leadership skills, and expert python developer skills required.
