I need a desktop software created that allows you to open a video file and add specific elements to that video file, then render it as a final file.
Specifically, I need to be able to add a "timer" to a video file that displays a time/value and counts down to zero, along with text and/or graphics (image files).
This is similar to "watermarking" a video file, only you'd be watermarking the video file with a graphic that moves (the "timer") and allows you to add in text or images beside that timer which are displayed as the timer counts down from a custom value to zero.
For the "timer":
You need to be able to select where you want to place this timer on the video, and how long the timer will last (what value/time it counts down from). So if you select where you want the timer to be placed on the timeline of the video, and set it for 30 seconds, the timer pops up, will be set to 30 seconds and begins counting down. When the timer reaches 0 (it disappears along with the text or image you added beside it).
I need this to be clean and easy to apply to the video, and be able to add more than one of these per video file. Preferably, when you load the video file, I'd like a "time line" to be displayed below the video file so you know the exact time(s) to add the timer and what values to set it to.
Also, I'd like to be able to add this timer to the bottom of the video, whether in a bottom corner or along the bottom of the video. I've included examples of each of these here:
-- Bottom corner of the video: http://i48.tinypic.com/qq8n6e.png
-- Along the bottom of the video: http://i50.tinypic.com/bi86mu.png
(In the pictures above, the text next to the timer can either be editable text or an image file.)
In addition to the "timer" displayed on the video, you'll also need to be able to add text or images, which appear beside the timer the entire time it counts down. The images/text appear alongside the timer, and disappear when the timer runs out (as does the timer itself).
For the text, you'll need to be able to change font size, color, font style, and possible effects (like fade in, fade out, etc).
After adding the timer(s) and images/text to the video file, I'd like to be able to preview the video before creating the finished file to see what the video will look like with the effects (timer, font, image) added in.
I want a clean interface for the software – if you specialize in creating confusing and convoluted interfaces and features then please, please do not bid on this project.
In addition to the software being created, I might need you on the hook for updates, and we can talk about that and work a deal out later about this as well.
NOTE: I have created mock-ups of what the interface of the software can look like, as far as layout and button placement. I will send these to you if you decide this is something you can do.
If this sounds up your alley then here is what I want you to do when you reply to this project to bid on it:
1) The first thing I'll need from you is for YOU to explain to ME how this software would work if you develop it. Explain to me how it will function so I know you fully understand what I'm asking you for. (And ASK me to clarify anything if you need me to!)
2) Then, the second thing is to give your estimation on how long it would take to get a beta version of this software working.
3) Explain what programs you're going to use to create this and WHY.
4) Be prepared to provide a mock-up of what the interface of this software will look like before I hire you. This will be the final step in selecting the best candidate.
One last thing: I expect an email once per day updating me on the progress you're making if I do select you. If that's a deal killer for you, please don't bid on this project.
READ THIS --> If your application does NOT address the above questions (or indicate that you read them and acknowledge them), it will tell me that you fail to follow directions and I therefore won't consider your application. This is your first test ;)
I look forward to working with you,
PS- If this project is a success, there are several other projects I have available, so this can turn into a very beneficial relationship.
