I am trying to build a large portfolio of product designs optimised for desktop 3D printing. Each design must take into account the limitations of desktop 3d printers - designs must have a flat base to print on to and must not have any overhangs greater than 65 degrees. I have ten categories of product design in mind: accessories; art; education; fashion; gadgets; household; jewellery; models; tools; and toys.
I am looking for product designers who can create product designs optimised for desktop 3D printing. In addition to advanced 3D design skills, a good understanding of desktop 3D printers and their limitations is required. Any potential applicants must also have the creativity to come up with their own product design ideas to supplement the product design ideas I have.
The type of product designs I am looking for, are designs that are likely to be popular with the growing number of people buying desktop 3D printers. These product designs could range from small simple products, to large products with moving parts which require assembly after printing.
Any potential applicant must be willing to submit a trial product design optimised for desktop 3D printing in STL format. Once the applicant has demonstrated they have the skills necessary, the price per design can be negotiated on a per design basis.
