I am looking for freelancers living in the US to observe their household members watching television on a TV set. You will be required to document what your household members do, and how long for, during advertising commercial breaks.
You will need to observe your household members watching television for thirty-minutes on four separate occasions within a two-week time frame (total 2 hours of viewing time). Observations must run for 30 consecutive minutes on each occasion (i.e., you can observe your household members watching the last 20 minutes of one program, and the first 10 minutes of the next). If your household members decide to watch a program that is longer than thirty-minutes, you only need to observe them for the first thirty-minutes of viewing. Your household members can watch any program at any time, at a location of their choice.
You will be provided with a document to complete each time you complete an observation. You must print this document out, and complete it by hand. A new document must be completed for every thirty-minute occasion (e.g., one document occasion = four completed documents in total). The document will include an observation framework you will need to fill in every time a commercial advertising break airs. Once all four viewing sessions are completed, you will need to copy your responses from the document to an online form.
The document has more detailed instructions (see attached).
