I am an entrepreneur in a niche financial business and economist. I'm looking for a prompt, coachable, meticulous individual to edit audio files I provide and produce them into polished episodes.
These episodes will include a pre-recorded intro and outro to be added to the main show material. Episodes will vary in length, but will usually run less than 45 to 60 minutes. Episodes will post to the inter-webs on a bi-monthly basis but will be recorded more frequently (potentially one to two times per week). I would expect each episode to be edited, produced, and sent back to me to be posted on the various outlets at a predetermined pace (e.g. within two business days).
It would be an added bonus if the applicant to this job had access to or produced music of their own or music they're legally allowed to re-use and sell for commercial purposes. I have yet to encounter an intro and outro I like, so could use assistance in putting these together.
I'm a fluid, fluent English speaker, so I do not expect that the editor-producer will need to parse the content to remove "um's" or other filler words. This should keep the total amount of time necessary to edit/produce each episode to a minimum. On occassion, I do expect that I will request a specific portion of content (maybe, e.g., because I was a little too blunt, mentioned someone's name, etc.) be removed. Otherwise, the editing should be rather light.
I record on an Audio-Technica ATR 2100 microphone and have had little to no problems in the past with audio quality from an ATR recording, to a .wav export, to a .mp3 conversion. Therefore, I don't expect that the audio quality will require too much additional attention. I will depend on you to point out to me and explain if and why this doesn't appear to be the case to you.
I'm posting this is as an hourly-paid job, but if a per-episode project basis might be better now or in the future, we could discuss that.
This job is offered on the assumption that you will edit and produce, and I will pay for, at least two podcast episodes. If we're happy with each other after two, we can proceed with the arrangement to additional episodes.
I expect the hourly rate to be no more than $30.00/hour.
