openCurrents enables nonprofits to reward volunteers for their time with Currents, a digital currency generated by social action. For every volunteer hour approved by the nonprofit, 1 Current is created and given to the volunteer. We are growing an ecosystem of nonprofits, volunteers, and businesses who value social action and who value the Current. The evolution has begun in Austin, Texas, and we intend to make openCurrents a global movement.
We are 4 months into our 6-month proof-of-concept phase, and we need help fixing the growing list of issues while we continue building the next phases of the platform. You would primarily be tasked with writing unit tests to streamline the development process and close outstanding issues, but you would also have the option of joining our planning meetings and offering your expertise and insights.
Test-Driven Development is extremely important for this project. Everything needs to be thoroughly tested from every angle before it is sent to any other team member for review. We know testing can be tedious, but if you'd rather pass along some buggy mess for someone else to waste their time with than do proper testing, please do not apply.
Please include "Give time, create Currents" in the top line of your message. Let us know if you have any questions. We'll be happy to give you access to our Github on request.
