We're going to buy a house, and then rent the rooms to tenants. We need to compare the monthly costs of buying a house, and the potential monthly rental income from renting the rooms in a similar house.
PROJECT, phase 1 (there will be additional milestones if you're interested):
Please put mortgage rates into a spreadsheet (I will give you the spreadsheet after hiring.)
1) Use the links in column A to get the "sold" price for each home in the list. (The first few are done as an example). Put these prices in column B.
2) Also use the link to record the number of bedrooms in the house. Put the number of bedrooms into column C
3) Calculate the monthly mortgage payment for each home using this website: https://www.nerdwallet.com/mortgages/mortgage-calculator/calculate-mortgage-payment
Use the home price that you recorded from the link. For the down payment, use the number that appears in column D (the spreadsheet uses a function that will automatically calculate a 20% down payment based on the home price that you entered into column B).
***Please make sure the location (on the right side of the mortgage calculator) is set to Philadelphia, PA. Put the "monthly payment" amount in column E
Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
