Build website features using the Ruby-on-Rails framework
Understanding of cross platform and cross browser compatibility issues.
>100 hours on Odesk with >4.5 rating (PLEASE do not apply for this position if you don't meet this criteria)
Enough knowledge of the Rails 3 framework to move around the code and work with our Lead Ruby-on-Rails engineers to plug in UI elements
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional team
Strong command of web standards and cross-browser compatibility
A portfolio to showcase previous work achievements
Nice-to-Have: Experience with Feedzirra and/or other RSS systems
Experience with graphic design (adobe tools, macromedia tools etc..) with portfolio to demonstrate graphic skills
Experience with HTML5
Experience with the new Rails 3.2 framework and the asset pipeline
Experience with Scrum and some form of Agile methodologies
Ability to work in a slightly fluid setting (requirements change, priorities change sometimes)
About the position
This is expected to be an ongoing part-time (10+ hours a week) gig with no set end date as we continuously iterate on our product.
