Our company is seeking one or more skilled writers to build original, insightful, intelligently written articles for a collection of websites representing senior living, assisted living, memory care, and independent living communities.
The articles must include rich details, matter of fact information, and strike a balance between helpful / informative and human touch / human interest tones. The articles should be approximately 500 words in length. Preference is given to writers who cite high quality sources.
The articles also must avoid cliche marketing language, aggressive sales pitching, overly verbose sentences designed to fill space, or empty fluff and rhetoric. We can't emphasize this point heavily enough. These articles are not commercials or brochures. These are research pieces designed to enrich a website with high quality information.
The articles must be written with a particular degree of taste. The articles are concerned with issues related to retirement, age related health, and common points of interest related to the lives of older adults and the senior living industry at large. The writer must have an intelligent understanding of these issues, and have the intuition and judgement to avoid insensitive remarks, crass language, or sentiments which could be interpreted as offensive or tasteless to older adults in senior care or their families.
Part of the challenge of the assignment is that the writer must present information related to the topic of the article while subtly alluding to the fact that community the website represents is an expert in the issues being discussed.
All of these components must be crafted into an original piece which flows naturally.
The articles must also be written completely so that they don't require additional editing or touch ups by our content management team. The nature of our workflow doesn't allow for revision requests or other correspondence time.
We have a continuous need for this material, and for individuals who excel at the assignment we may be willing to assign ten or more articles per month.
You'll be provided with a rubric and basic outline which includes a topic or concept for the article, and a focus keyphrase to tastefully incorporate into the article. Although we have strict quality requirements, we are flexible if a writer presents a smart alternative to our rubric and layout, as long as our general specifications are followed and the quality is high.
Extreme preference will be given to writers who can independently identify topics for articles and compose completed pieces following the rubric and outline without further coaching.
