We are facing 2 issues for a few weeks on our website:
- 1st issue:
The SQL Service on the server stops several times a day, The website is not available anymore (The message "Error establishing a database connection" is displayed to the visitors) and we have to restart My SQL every time to make it work properly. So we put this CRON job on the system to avoid these daily inconveniences:
if [[ ! "$(/usr/sbin/service mysql status)" =~ "active (running)" ]]
service mysql restart
rm -rf /home/www/premc/wp-content/cache/all/*
This is not a lasting solution, we are looking for the root cause of this
- 2nd issue
As soon as we login to the WordPress admin to edit the website, the CPU is going up to 100% on Webmin (see the TOP command result in the screenshot "Screen Shot 2018-06-14 at 01.11.46.png" enclosed) and everything becomes very slow: it takes a very long time to do modifications.
Also, webpage upload is very slow and that is why we need to cache all the webpage today in order to make it quicker for the user. Having said that, each time the website is edited via Wordpress, the cache is cleared and connexion to the website becomes very slow until the web pages are cached.
We are looking for someone to fix these issues.
For your information:
- It looks like that our Ubuntu version is not up to date, we have this message displayed each time we connect to the server: "Your Ubuntu release is not supported anymore ... New release '16.04.4 LTS' available"
- The current SQL Service version is "mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.6.28, for debian-linux-gnu (x86_64) using EditLine wrapper"
- The current Ubuntu version is "Ubuntu 15.04 (GNU/Linux 3.14.32-xxxx-grs-ipv6-64 x86_64)" (cf screenshot "WhatsApp Image 2018-07-13 at 1.26.18 PM (1).jpeg" enclosed for more info)
