This is intended to be a simple proof of concept for demonstration purposes with only limited functionality needed. I want to use it to generate interest in a larger more complex project.
The Firefox extension will display a banner above web pages and will provide a numerical and color coded rating of that web page. Depending on the URL, the banner will display a different score and visual representation of that score (green, yellow, red). The rating will be determined by calling back to a database that is curated by me. If the URL is not in the database the banner will simply be black. When the cursor rolls over the banner, additional information will be displayed explaining the rating.
For example if a user goes to something like www.upwork.com, the plugin will search my database to see if that site has been logged and rated. If there is a match, then it displays the appropriate rating and banner.
I need your help on developing both the extension and on the data entry interface.
I will consult with you on which browser and which OS is easiest to create this plugin, Firefox was just an initial thought. If the project is successful, I will have additional needs.
