We are a small non profit from Amsterdam, running large social art projects in Brazil, Mexico, Haiti. (www.favelapainting.com). We are planning to run a project in a favela in Rio de Janeiro, painting and plastering hundreds of slum houses.
We are looking for someone who can advise us on several building matters. We would send you images (expect a situation, as seen here http://www.ips.org/TV/wsf2010/library/Favela-Nova_FriburgoNate-Cull.jpg) and then ask questions like:
- could you make an approximation of squarage
- how much cement would be needed to plaster a house
- what would be the ideal scaffolding system
Your advise would be used directly to write production plans, make estimates and ultimately, make the world a better - or at least better plastered/painted place.
Ideally, you would be located in Brazil, speak portuguese and able to get quotes for materials and equipment, but if you don't, it's no dealbreaker.
Please have affinity with the subject. You are interested in self built housing, slum housing, creative and flexible solutions, out of the box thinking et cetera.
No ideal how large this contract can get, but we are constantly setting up projects all over the world, so if it's a fit, this could be a very long and interesting job!
