Every Monday morning, we help our readers get smarter about business/markets, culture, and news from the week before in just 5 minutes with a fun and entertaining read. Content includes briefs on the most important business news of the week and a mix of diverse African American lifestyle content. The result is the quintessential mix of business and relevant culture, from the Valley to the Wall St.—the west coast to the east coast—and some. BetterMondays sets itself apart with it’s witty and humorous voice, special insights, relevant cultural references, and addressing the matters of the education, politics, and lifestyle in the African American community.
We’re looking for a witty, stylish writer to help us research and develop content for all major elements of the newsletter each week. Those elements will include
+The latest relevant headlines in top trending industries (media, retail, tech, transportation, etc.)
+Stock market recap
+Cultural news (fashion, hip-hop, media)
+Relevant cultural trivia
YOUR MUST HAVES:
Strong awareness of current events in African American and American culture across relevant mediums, disciplines, industries
Adroitness in the writing style and tone that resonates with the target market and matches our brand.
Ability to deliver sophisticated (and simple) topics alike in a fun easy to read manner. Marked by:
+Cleverness - seeing unique cultural parallels
+Humor - we love puns, sarcasm and gifs
+Simplicity - don’t over think it
