I have a dedicated web server that regularly becoming overloaded in some way. A previous consultant had setup a script that will reboot the server upon excessive overload, and I'm getting these reboots at least once per day, and often 2-4 times in immediate succession before the server levels off.
Also, I have a service that monitors my server and 1-3 times per day I receive a notification from this service that my server is "offline". Then, a couple minutes later I receive a notification that it's back up.
Be sure to mention the word Giraffe when you respond to this posting.
I really need someone who is skilled in troubleshooting this sort of thing to establish what is causing the overload and determine for me how it can be corrected without wreaking havoc on my server. It's been customized quite a bit in order to run certain scripts and whatnot. But, I cannot continue to have these outages.
